Features to know about

Stay Level and Confident Under Heavy Loads: 7,500-lb Load-Leveling Support

When the rear end starts to sag under a big trailer or heavy bed load, these Firestone Airide Red Label Extreme Duty Air Helper Springs step in with up to 7,500 lbs of load-leveling capacity. The air springs mount between the frame and rear suspension to keep your ride height level, improve steering and braking, and maintain even tire wear. By preventing squat and strain on your rear axle, they help your truck handle heavy loads with the same steady feel as when it’s empty.

Dial In the Ride You Want: Adjustable From 5 psi to 150 psi

Every haul is different, so you need control over how firm or soft your suspension feels. These RED Label air springs are adjustable from 5 psi up to 150 psi, letting you fine-tune your setup for towing, hauling, or everyday driving. Manual inflation valves allow side-to-side adjustment so you can balance off-center loads and minimize body roll. More pressure means extra stability under load—less pressure means a smoother ride when running light.

Built for Extreme Duty: Four-Layer Reinforced Rubber and Rolled Crimp Seal

These aren’t ordinary air bags—they’re built to take real weight day after day. Each RED Label spring uses four layers of reinforced rubber with a braided wire girdle that creates a double-convoluted shape for maximum burst strength. Corrosion-resistant metal end plates are sealed with Firestone’s rolled crimp design that locks the bag securely in place, eliminating weak points found in band-clamp designs. It’s the kind of construction that holds up through years of hard towing and heavy hauling without leaks or sagging.

Smooth Ride and Easy Setup: No-Drill Brackets and Complete Hardware

The kit includes vehicle-specific brackets, air springs, hardware, air line, and separate inflation valves for a clean installation without drilling into the frame. Once mounted, the springs absorb road shock and help prevent bottoming out between the axle and frame. Add an optional compressor system later if you want in-cab or wireless inflation—these springs are ready for it right out of the box.

A+++++++++

by:

They fit great on my 2017 f350, instructions where very clear and easy enough to install

by:

Shipping was top notch. Instructions as with all instructions only reason not 5 star

by:

Thery worked fantastic

by:

Kelly was great! Fast shipping and quick delivery.

by:

Easy to install and work very well in leveling when we tow!

by:

It was easy to install and I can tell the difference when I have a load. My pickup was not equipped with overload springs. These make all the difference.

by:

Overall it is a good system. Installation is fairly simple but there are a few modifications that you have to make for newer F350 duallys for it to work on the driver’s side like bending a few of the brackets for various line and cable holders out of the way. It seems like it needs a wider bracket base to sit on the axle. I was not impressed by the low grade bolts that came with the kit and after a few months of pulling a heavy trailer down rough dirt roads the bolts worked their way loose and the mounting bracket rotated. This happened twice. The airbag on the drivers side does not sit exactly vertical but from what I understand the offset is ok and it has been except for the mounting bolts loosening and bending. The second time I fixed this problem I replace the bolts with a higher grade and used two nuts on each for a jamb nut because I felt locktite just wasn’t enough. This method seemed to work. The airbags work great though and I am glad I put them on. I would like to add some to my 32’ 20k trailer but cant really find any to fit the limited space or that have a mounting bracket to facilitate that. I also put some on my dodge truck and am happy with those but again the bolts included in the kit are not a high enough grade and I recommend two nuts on each mounting bolts for a jamb nut to keep them tight or they will vibrate loose if you go down rough roads with a load. I would definitely add them again to any truck I own with the modifications stated right off the bat. No use doing something twice if you dont have to.

Great review, Steve, thank you! I think others will find this helpful, too.

by:

Great Product. It’s the 4th set I’ve installed on various trucks. This version on the Ford was a bit more challenging. I have a 2024 Platinum F350 Dually. At this trim level, there seems to be more sensors and wiring to deal with, so a little more modification was required. It took me about 8 hrs total to complete the install.

by:

Installed these on my brand new 2024 Ford F350 Super Duty Platinum Tremor. Installation was fairly simple except that the vehicle frame and the leaf spring U-bolts were not perpendicular to each other and the axle was slightly forward in position relative to the attachment point of the top plate. This made it impossible to mount the air bags in a neutral position, a slight curve had to be applied to get them in place. No amount of minor repositioning of the bottom plate could compensate. It may make no difference, but I don't know, and I'm hesitant to put any load on them until I get a response back from Firestone regarding the issue. etrailer associates haven't provided more than the recommendation that I contact Firestone.

Hi Brad, I can understand your concern but please be assured that this isn't too abnormal. The chances of getting them perfectly perpendicular are much more slim. The "ballooning effect" will not change the strength of your air bags. As long as you followed the provided directions, and made sure you alternated back and forth between the two U-bolt nuts as you tighten them down, you should be more than good to tow. Firestone may be able to give you a more detailed reason as to why this occurs with their air bags, but this isn't something we haven't seen before.

Firestone was very responsive and thorough in addressing my concern, and assured me that there wasnt any problem with the installation. The springs have worked very well. A 15,000 lb., dry weight, 5th wheel is the heaviest thing I tow and when loaded up I set the pressure to around 70 lbs. for a smooth, balanced ride. I would recommend these to anyone looking for air springs. They are my second set of Firestone brand air springs, I used those for about 6 years on everything I towed, 2,500 lbs. to the 5th wheel, and they never failed me.

by:

Installation took a little bit to figure out, but once I did it went on very fast. They are working really well now.

by:

OK, so I love the way these work but I had issues with the printed instructions. They were not clear as to whether I needed to use the axle support bracket when I have the Jounce Supports. I installed the bags once with the axle brackets installed (and things just didn't fit well). I then looked up the online instructions which were different and clearer and indicated NOT to use the axle support brackets if you have Jounce Supports. So I had to remove and reinstall the airbags a 2nd time in order to get the bags to sit right and install tight to the Jounce Supports. I'd recommend having the Online instructions handy ILO the printed instructions that come with the kit.

@Scott Glad to hear things are holding up as they should after a year Scott! What is the main purpose for your bags, hauling something fun or for work?

by:

While the kit is a great product, this is the second truck I have installed Firestone Airbags on, this kit does not fully work with my 2024 F350 CCSB 7.3 4:30 geared FX4 Platinum, I had to modify the drivers side bottom plate to clear the Monoblock brake bracket on the axle. Adjust several brackets to get clearances. My total install time was 8hrs with all the modifications and double checks required. I still suggest the product, but some additional product development needs to take place to truly call this plug and play and somehow get the install to 2.5 hours as it states.

by:

Absolutely love the system. It took a minute to get acclimated to having them but now every time I hook to a trailer I’m setting them up. Easy on the fly adjustments would definitely purchase again and have recommended them to many friends.

by:

The truck i installed these on is not stock height, these may work best on stock height truck but I installed these as per the instructions and didn't last a week before I ended up happening to cut the brackets and do custom work to make these bags work like they are supposed to

by:

Arrived as noted and in good condition. Instructions show 2 types of install. Turks with Bounce tongue stopper, and back section without. One the F350 2023 FX4 Dually model the drivers side lower bracket hits the aluminum that the block the fixed brake line attaches too. Called Firestone and I modified the bracket cut small notch off. To the DYI installer helpful note go ahead and assemble airbag on lower bracket when using spacer and start bolt. Compress airbag and I used Zipties to hold compression til I placed on axle. If not you only have 1/2-3/4” to try and get bolt started into airbag from bottom. After aligned then tightened all my bolts and torqued. Approx airbag install and running hoses about 2-3 hrs. And manual fill lines come with a no drill bracket that can be used on rear if preferred in addition to a compressor if purchased.

by:

Would have to modify brake lines on a 2025 F-350. Do not fit. Had to remove.

by:

Had these things for two months and one of the bags blew out and the parts came off. Definitely didn’t expect that. Hoping I will get a replacement. Paid $900 bucks for them. Ugh
Too much money to be having problems this soon. Cheap junk sold as high quality goods.

by:

This item is trash so far… The Bluetooth connects to the app sometimes and the remote did not turn on after being charged all night. Also, the remote appeared used and old out of the box. Firestone is sending another remote, but what is the use of having these airbags if you can’t use them. Just terrible so far… maybe etrailer and/or Firestone can repair my first experience with both companies.

by:

I spent $815 for these just to get a box with everything just thrown in there. All the pieces had the paint chipping off and the bags looks like they were left outside on the dirt after a rain storm. Basically looked like a used kit. I’ve been waiting for these to leave on a trip but now I have to hold off a few days to send this set back and order from somewhere else. I used to think etrailer was great but now I’ll never order anything from them again

by:

The Firestone airbag brackets are not nearly strong enough, they bend under a load. I am not happy with the ride either.

That should not be happening, James. What kind of load are we talking about? And how much pressure are you running in the bags? Also, is it loaded ride or unloaded ride that you are unhappy with?

by:

2024 F250 XLS.. Instructions were wrong, only with the video from etrailer was the install possible. This install was a nightmare. Now post a few weeks, I discovered that one side is slowly leaking. Still working on a solution for this problem. I don’t know of any other install that I would recommend, maybe should of installed an extra leaf spring. I took my time installing this, 3 days otherwise I would have stressed out. Also, use air tools otw you will hate your life.

by:

Solid product, Easy to install if you take your time. Will definitely be adding the compressor kit to make airing up and down way easier and precise. Another quality purchase and A-1 customer support from eTrailer.

by:

These were a great purchase. I did have a local shop install them rather than doing them myself (I didnt feel like rolling around in the gravel for 2 hours). I have an F450 and tow a Brinkley G3950. I towed the trailer some without the airbags and the truck did fine. With the bags installed and inflated to about 40 psi, my truck handles perfectly.

  • Firestone Air Bags for 2026 Ford F-350 FX4 Dually
Hey Doug! The Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F35FV are the right kit for your 2026 Ford F-350 FX4 dually. However, you will need to measure to be sure it fits. The distance from the top of your rear axle to the top of the jounce bump stop must equal 40, 70 or 80mm for this application to fit. The same is true for the Red Label # F95FV with the higher rating. If you're looking for a complete kit with an air compressor you can choose from the following: -Firestone Ride-Rite Air...

  • Air Bag Suspension Enhancement Kit Recommendation 2024 Ford F-350 Dually
Hey John, so the Firestone Ride Rite kit part # F95FV that you referenced should fit your 2024 Ford F-350 but you need to measure the distance from the top of the jounce bumper stop to the top of the rear axle. This needs to equal 40,70, or 80 mm. I am not sure what you meant by 4:30-1. Air Lift has their kit part # AL23DQ which does not have that dimension requirement though so that would be an option either way.

  • Will Air Bags Effect Onboard Scales of 2024 Ford F-350 Super Duty
Great question, Kevin. The Onboard Scale system on your 2024 Ford F-350 Super Duty works by essentially measuring how low the bed is sitting and it gives an estimated weight based off of that. If you added a suspension enhancement then that would prevent your truck from squatting as much and basically render the Onboard Scale as useless since it won't be able to accurately measure the squat. With all of that being said, if you'll be hauling and/or towing heavier loads, then a suspension...

Keep in mind though that the onboard scale basically works by measuring how much the truck is squatting, and gives you a weight based on that.
